Boulevard Barat Channel Repair Targeted to Complete This October

Dredging and concrete repair on water channel which are started since October 3 on Jalan Boulevard Barat, Kelapa Gading Barat Urban Village, Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta is targeted to finish by the end of this month.

Along 10 days, personnel has dredged 6,000 sacks of mud

Kelapa Gading Water Resources (SDA) Unit Head, Rukmana mentioned, dredging is done to the southern side of this 860-meter channel which is ended at MOI pump house.

Channel at Jalan Batu Ampar III Cleaned

He said, 26 personnel are deployed every day to dredge the channel that has width and height 1.2 meters.

"Along 10 days, personnel has dredged 6,000 sacks of mud. We target to finish it in the next two weeks," he added, Saturday (10,13).

He admitted, dredging needs a quite some time to be done because it is covered with concrete plates. Thus, not only dredging, but his side also needs to repair its concrete covers.

"There are five concrete plates broken and we need to replace it. Besides two pumps that we have, I hope after this channel dredged, inundation can be avoided in rainy season," he conveyed.
